Why
Vote?
Maybe
self-protection is the most basic reason. The
government is your government. Congress and your
state legislature spend trillions every year and you pay
the bill. You pay taxes almost every day so
shouldn’t you have a say in how the money is spent.
You can fight for your
country at age 18; even die for your country. Lots
of people give their lives to the freedom we share.
Voting is one way to keep freedom alive.
If you don’t someone
else will. If you don’t vote you tell the
politicians you don’t care about the issues facing
Americans.
-
Voting is a Right -
The right
to vote is a unique American privilege. The
Constitution is founded on the belief that it is the
duty of the people to establish a government.
America’s Constitution secures the rights of “Life,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” It is up
to us as responsible citizens to maintain and uphold
these rights by voting.
Want
to be heard?
You
matter. Regardless of status, U.S. citizens are
all equal on Election Day. The President, George
Clooney, LeBron James, Brittney Spears, all count the
same. It is our duty to elect the right people to
represent, and keep it real. If you don’t vote,
someone else will.
“One vote,
Votes LOUD!”
